In our moments of struggle, it is easy to feel that the Divine has a list of favorites and that we, somehow, didn't make the cut. We often view God as a distant judge who chooses to bestow luck on some and hardship on others. But what if the truth was far more liberating? Imagine a massive, warm bonfire in the middle of a cold winter night. The fire doesn't choose who to warm; it radiates heat in every direction. The person standing ten feet away feels a mild warmth, while the person standing right next to it feels a glowing heat. The fire is neutral—it is the distance we choose to maintain that determines how much warmth we receive.

This is precisely the profound wisdom Krishna shares in Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 9, Verse 29. He says, "I am the same to all beings; to Me there is none hateful or dear." He clarifies that the Divine is like the sun—shining equally on a rose and a thorn, on a palace and a hut. The teacher doesn't 'hate' the student in the back row or 'love' the student in the front row more. However, the student who sits attentively, asks questions, and practices the lessons experiences a deeper connection with the teacher. To an outsider, it might look like the teacher is favoring that student, but in reality, the student simply made themselves 'available' to the teacher’s knowledge. Our spiritual life is no different. The 'Frequency of Grace' is being broadcasted 24/7; we just need to tune our internal radio to receive it.

In our modern, fast-paced lives, we often complain about feeling 'empty' or 'disconnected.' We look for external validation to fill that void. This verse reminds us that the connection we seek isn't something to be earned from a distant deity; it is a realization to be uncovered within. By practicing small acts of devotion—whether it's a minute of silent gratitude, a selfless act for a neighbor, or simply performing our work as an offering—we are cleaning our internal mirror. We stop being the 'muddy pot' and start becoming the 'clear mirror.'
